Coffee house, restaurant, art gallery and general hangout – Caffeine & Machine exists as a meeting place for anyone who has a fondness for anything machine. It doesn’t matter what, either: modern, modified, retro, resto, bikes, rat rods or someone riding a jet-powered food blender, at Caffeine & Machine everyone is welcome.
Being avid ‘petrolheads’ we jumped at the chance to be involved in the very early stages of what has become a worldwide talked about hangout in the UK motor scene. Tasked by the founders Phil & Dan, we worked collaboratively with them, to create the basics for the brand, the identity scheme, business unit naming, interior & exterior visual looks, key merchandise, and the development of their important digital platform.
Definition.
A unique automotive destination
Coffee house, licensed bar and restaurant, boutique b&b, and living art gallery, C&M is designed very simply as a place to go, a destination if you appreciate moving things. With fabulous, simple food, mind-blowing coffee and – due in ’19 – beautifully-appointed rooms, C&M offers everything you expect from a modern member’s club – except you don’t have to be a member to enjoy it.
Set in twelve lush acres just outside the glorious city of Stratford-Upon-Avon, Warwickshire, C&M provides a convenient hub for any motorised scene, a hub whose spokes reach out into every subculture, group, club and clan you can imagine – from supercars to rat rods, vintage bikes to drift cars. Anything that starts with a key, has wheels, or powered (including human), we embrace.
C&M provides a place where people can meet, talk, eat, drink and inspire – a local and national centre for a huge and diverse community. A quick coffee or lazy lunch, a weekend away or an evening drink – it’s all ready and waiting.
A place for everyone
Family and pet-friendly, on any given day or night you can expect to see all sorts of eclectic machinery show up on the C&M parade ground – as long as the vehicles come with a story, they’ll be welcome. There are regular club events and special ‘manufacturer launches’ marking the calendar throughout the year.
On-site C&Ms very own constantly evolving and changing art gallery in the main house (which usually contains a spectacular classic parked inside) and fun stuff in the outbuildings behind, from the lost art of suspension alignment with Ben at String Theory, bespoke auto sculpture and furniture making with James at Speed Steel, to a pop-up valeting area with Revive Auto Apothecary. There are EV charge points on the way, and plans for a variety of small-but-useful areas – a place for a quick service for a pushbike, perhaps, or a space to oil one’s motorbike chain. This is not a euphemism.
Simply put, C&M is designed as a place to go, a destination if you appreciate moving things.
A place where people can meet, talk, eat, drink and inspire – a local and national centre for a huge and diverse community.

A symbol with a cult following
The Caffeine & Machine logo, draws inspiration from the artistic automotive marques of the 20s, simple ‘art deco’ styled mark making and typography, combined with a limited colour palette, has formed a multifaceted solution which is versatile and striking, making it an instantly recognisable marque for C&M.
The clean use of typography, a contemporary design style, and varied colour palette, all provide an appropriate level of design sophistication, whilst allowing the overall onsite experiences to remain the focus.
